Do I need to be spiritual to attend?
No.
People from many different backgrounds attend this retreat.
You don't need to subscribe to a particular belief system or have any previous experience with personal development.
The only requirement is curiosity, openness, and a willingness to explore yourself more deeply.
You'll never be asked to believe what Marinna believes.
Instead, you'll be invited to reflect on your own experiences and discover what resonates for you.
Will Marinna share her personal story?

Throughout the retreat, Marinna shares the deeply personal experiences that shaped her understanding of compassion, self-trust, consciousness, and heart-led living.
Her story isn't shared to convince anyone of a particular worldview.

Can my registration be transferred?
Yes — to another guest, with written notice at least 14 days before August 30. All registrations are non-refundable due to the depth of preparation and the intimate scale of the gathering.
What if weather affects the ferry?
The Isles of Shoals are a coastal environment and weather is part of the container. All participants are asked to hold flexibility on ferry timing. Any necessary adjustments will be communicated promptly and fully.
What happens if I'm on a payment plan and can't continue?
All payment plans are commitments to the full experience. If payments are not completed, your reservation may be released and prior payments are non-refundable.
What if I miss part of the event or arrive late?
We recommend planning travel carefully to be present for the full experience. Partial attendance, late arrival, or early departure does not qualify for any refund or credit.
What if the event is postponed or rescheduled?
In the rare case of a required reschedule, your registration will be honored for the new date without penalty.
Why is the investment lower than many retreats like this?
People are often surprised when they see the investment.
Some have assumed this experience would cost $15,000 or more.
That was never our intention.
One of the reasons Sovereignty on the Shoals™ is held on Star Island is because of what the island represents. For generations, Star Island has welcomed people seeking reflection, learning, community, and personal transformation through its nonprofit mission.
We wanted to honor that legacy.
Rather than creating an experience that only a few people could access, Marinna intentionally chose to keep the investment within reach while still creating a deeply personal, high-touch retreat.
This isn't about offering less.
It's about making room for more people to experience meaningful transformation in a place that has inspired it for decades.
Why are there two separate investments?
Sovereignty on the Shoals™ is held on Star Island, a nonprofit conference and retreat center that has welcomed people seeking reflection, learning, and transformation for generations.
Rather than bundling everything into one price, we've chosen to separate the investment into two parts.
Your retreat registration covers your Sovereignty on the Shoals™ experience with Marinna.
Your Star Island reservation covers your accommodations, all meals during your stay, and your round-trip ferry transportation to and from the island.
This approach allows guests to choose the lodging option that best fits their preferences while supporting Star Island's nonprofit mission.
